The Catholic Foundation of Greater Philadelphia (CFGP) visited St. Agatha/St. James Parish in University City to present them with a $500 Community Impact Award. This award will be used for assistance with the parish's weekly soup kitchen and other services, run by the University City Hospitality Coalition (UCHC). St. Agatha/St. James is one of the Coalition's five locations that serve meals every week to the public.
UCHC also offers services including medical, legal, and dental clinics free-of-charge to the community, which are available on Wednesday evenings at any of the five meal sites. UCHC has been working with local parishes and organizations since 1984 to ensure that the homeless and hungry are served in a dignified manner.
CFGP's Community Impact Award will specifically assist St. Agatha/St. James Parish with their free dental services for those individuals without healthcare.
