St. Katherine Day School was the first day school for special needs students in the country and is one of the four Catholic Schools of Special Education in the Archdiocese of Philadelphia. St. Katherine's provides individualized special education in a Catholic environment for children and young adults with developmental delays or cognitive disabilities. The school serves students aged four and a half to 21 years old.
At St. Katherine’s, students are guided by a staff of highly qualified educators to reach their fullest potential. Students participate in all subjects from reading and math to art, but with a tailored curriculum to address each student’s needs. St. Katherine’s offers a touch math program, a functional reading program, and a wide variety of elective classes including music therapy, speech therapy, physical education and more. The School also provides a sensory room for students to help soothe their minds and bodies during times of distress.
CFGP’s Community Impact Award will help St. Katherine Day School with expenses associated with their special needs equipment and technology.
