Providence Center, located in North Philadelphia, has been awarded a $5,000 grant from The Catholic Foundation of Greater Philadelphia. The grant will provide continuing support for the Centers youth and adult education programs.
Founded in 1993 by the Society of the Holy Child Jesus, Providence Center was established to address the most pressing needs of its community. Today, their mission remains, with emphasis on acting as a safe, hospitable space for learning in a community troubled with the highest poverty and violence rates in the city. Providence Center works to provide children and adults with the tools they need to better their education, and the assistance they need to secure a bright future.
CFGP’s $5,000 grant will help Providence Center to continue and expand their current programs, including English as a Second Language (ESL), homework assistance and tutoring, social and emotional learning, and Teen Leadership.
